In Spanish: Sight Translation Skills-building workshop 8 CEUs (pending)
Price (two 4-hour days) $45 for OSTI members; $90 for non-OSTI members.TWO 4-HR CLASSES – YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO RECEIVE CREDIT
(Language neutral course is also offered on Nov. 11 and 18.)
Come practice sight translating common documents such as HIPAA releases and consent forms. Participants will give and receive feedback in this supportive environment as we practice this useful skill and learn from each other.

Presenter Bios (alphabetical order by last name)
Khanh Le is an immigrant from Vietnam, now a naturalized U.S. citizen. As a Youth & Family Advocate and Vietnamese liaison, she helps her community with language interpretation and resource connections. Passionate about promoting equity and inclusion, she focuses on language interpretation, translation, and second language acquisition to empower her community and make a positive impact in her adopted homeland.
Victor Shepherd
Amanda Wheeler-Kay is a Certified Health Care / Community Interpreter in Spanish/English who has interpreted in the Portland area since 2007 (certification through NBCMI.) Amanda previously worked as a bilingual social worker, and that experience informs her work as an interpreter and as an educator. She prefers to work in collaboration with other language equity advocates in creating and teaching workshops. She currently lives in Oregon, her home state, but has formerly considered Washington DC and Buena Vista, El Salvador as home. She loves to travel with friends and family and play noncompetitive soccer.
