Ethical Conundrums in Medical Interpreting

The work shop lasts 3 hours with one 15-minute break at approximately 90 minutes after start.
Many, if not most, of the ethical mistakes made by interpreters tends to come from a place of trying to be helpful, polite, or supportive. But the unintended consequence may be an ethical violation. Understanding role boundaries clearly, can help interpreters navigate the waters of customer service in a way that consistently upholds the Code of Ethics.
This webshop will explore all of the above. Scripts will be shared for positive, professional interaction, and breakout room sessions will offer the opportunity for attendees to practice.
Course objectives:
Attendees will be able to describe:
