Whether the patient is on the recipient or the donor side of the experience, this lengthy process involves specialized terminology and the need for a clear understanding of the evaluation steps in order to create accurate meaning in interpretation. We'll use art and story-telling to work through our objectives together.
Course Objectives:
· Define the concepts and terms related to the Kidney Transplant program. · Explain the details of the pre- and post- transplant process for recipients. · Explain the details of the pre- and post- donation process for living donors. · Explain the importance of being financially prepared for a transplant. · Apply the NCIHC’s interpreter code of ethics and standards of practice.
Start time: Please arrive by 7:30am to park, get signed in, and settled. Class starts at 8:00am and ends at 1:00pm.
