To broaden their repertoire of practical solutions to dilemmas, interpreters will discuss a variety of scenarios from real life, share their experience and suggestions on how to best handle each situation. Presenter, Svetlana Ruth, is a certified medical interpreter and interpreters' trainer, who has lead these discussion groups for several years. 

Facilitator Introduction:
Svetlana Ruth is a Russian Interpreter, Certified by the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA). She is working in Portland, Oregon. With 30 years of interpreting experience in different fields, she is passionate about promoting career development for interpreters, and has offered numerous workshops, seminars, and webinars.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

1. Have a better understanding of what ethical principles guide specific decisions
2. Apply effective strategies of choosing best practices for different situations based on the Code of Ethics
3. Improve quick critical thinking analysis for decision-making in healthcare setting.
