Interpreting in Palliative Care

September 15, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Interpreting in Palliative Care
Free Clinic of Southwest Washington
4100 Plomondon St, Vancouver, WA 98661
Saturday, September 15 from 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Oregon Society of Translators and Interpreters is providing an interactive
7-hour workshop designed for experienced health care interpreters to expand
their knowledge, improve interpreting skills, and increase their comfort level
in palliative care settings. Conversations involving palliative care, especially
those at end of life, can be challenging and among the most difficult for
interpreters, not only linguistically and culturally, but personally. Palliative
care is a rapidly expanding area of medicine that all interpreters should be
familiar with. Palliative care conversations present unique challenges for
interpreters that require specific knowledge and skills. This workshop is open
to experienced interpreters of all languages. Learn more by going to the
Eventbrite site linked below. Instructors: Jennifer Levi & Erin Neff-Minyard.

Approved for 7 hours of Continuing
Education by CCHI. IMIA approved
for 0.7 CEUs. Washington DSHS CEUs

Space is limited. The first 5 spots are offered at no-charge to Free Clinic
of Southwest Washington interpreters based on clinic referral. All others
must register online at Eventbrite. (See link below.) Cost is $15.
